Day Seven ~ Troutdale and the Scenic Highway

Yesterday was a day I would not have wanted to be without my camera.
Warning....if you don't want to look at photos,
you will likely not enjoy this particular post..~ Smile ~

Located at the mouth of the Columbia River Gorge, you will find McMenamins Edgefield, in Troutdale.
Originally built in 1911 as a Poor Farm, is now 74 acres that include lodging (100 European-style guestrooms and include suites with private baths), dining, gardens, winery, a movie theater, brewery and distillery, full service spa and salon, and two par-3 golf courses.
It still houses original artwork and lots of historical photographs at every turn.
We learned from Nancy (friend/tour guide extraordinaire ) that the McMenamins are known
for buying old abandoned buildings and turning them into something.
She suggests we Google them and read up!

This plant below had the largest leaves I've ever seen!

Next we toured the falls via the scienc Hwy....just beautiful!

B & B

Was such a great day....we can't express how much it meant to have Dan
and Nancy give up their time to make our visit here a great experience.
 We just love them!

We returned to our hotel with big plans of,
sleeping in!
Looking forward to what we find on our last day in Portland
it's what echos from my heart today...
