Wednesday Hodge Podge ~ July Stuff

1. The month of July was named for Roman Emperor Julius Caesar. He's quoted as saying, 'Experience is the teacher of all things." So what has experience taught you lately?
Getting through a rough patch can be a long, trying road.
It's only when you reach the other side
you realize it was all worth it and all are the better because of it.
(insert happy dance)

2. Where did you last 'roam'?
Most likely in Barnes and Noble...I could spend hours roaming books and music.

3. Speaking of 'Rome'...pizza, pasta, gelato...you can only pick one, which would you choose?
Well, before Atkins it would have been pasta...now it's a treat.
I would have to choose gelato, salted caramel to be specific...
This indulgence would need to be monitored closely...if ya know what I'm say'in..... ~ smile

4. 'Rome wasn't built in a day', 'All roads lead to Rome', 'When in Rome...' which 'Roman' idiom have you most recently encountered? Explain.
All roads lead to Rome/my office. Everyday I want to de- clutter and reorganize.
I walk in look around and walk out.  Repeat every couple hours.
I so want to get it done before I have the kids full time again...just haven't managed it,
yet the road keeps leading me there. :-(

5. What's a movie you've seen or a book you've read, that makes you want to book a trip to Italy?
Though I wasn't a big fan of the book, Eat, Pray, Love....
The time spent in Italy made me want that experience of renting a little place, enjoying the food and meeting
the towns people. It wouldn't hurt that they happen to have gelato :-)
An episode of Little People, Big World made me want to go all the more....

6.  Walt's original Disneyland opened almost sixty years ago, on July 17, 1955  Have you ever been to the California park? How about any of the other Disney parks around the world? What's your favorite amusement park ride or attraction?
I grew up going to Disneyland every year, three times a year.
Once with church group, once with our visiting relatives in the summer and then once with a local company
called TRW night that our neighbor got us tickets for.
I couldn't wait to be tall enough for Autopia, so wanted to drive those cars.
I'm sad the cost is so ridiculous now...
$96 per person over age 10 is pretty steep, plus the cost of food for the day !
Imagine the cost for a family of four?
It is a magical experience, must do it at least once :-)

7. It's that time of year...when were you last bitten or stung?
I was stung in June while floating in a pool in Palm Desert,
remember the vampire bee sting? ~ smile

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

Thursday is Pa and I's 14 year anniversary !
I love this man, he is such a hard worker and often does special things for me, just because.
The kids and grand kids mean so much to him, he is always available to help out if any of the kids need something fixed or installed and  he really is a fun Pa to the little ones.

We are taking Khloe and her family to see a production of Mary Poppins
at our nearby  Moonlight Amphitheater. This is part one of her birthday presents from us, Pa is
such a good sport to share our day :-)
Khloe loves the move and singing a Spoonful of Sugar,I just can't wait to see her reaction to a live production.
My little sweet Bean's turning three next week, I just can't believe it.
She will be starting Preschool three
days a week next month...sniffle sniffle....
She is going to love it!

Life is going by too quickly for me,
making each day count is what echos from my heart.

  2. I was introduced to gelato by a blog friend. In fact, she sent a lot of samples to a few of us. It was wonderful.

Happy Anniversary, Debi to you and hubstir. :)
