Fresh on Friday ~The Same Today, Yesterday and Tomorrow

Fresh on Friday

Encouragement

It's like a warm winter jacket that gets you through
until the sun shows up again....and it always does.

Encouragement

Words that become arms to hold you up until your able to stand on your own again.

~
It's hard to stay positive and cheery with all the world news that surrounds us of late.
Oh and then there is whatever is happening in our own personal worlds.
It helps to know the promise of something better is sure to follow....
For me it's the promise of an eternity that is not of this world.

The world continues to turn toward darkness it seems.
Morals and values mean less and less daily.
Your weird, close minded, judgmental and self righteous if they matter to you.
I'm sticking to what mattered and worked for our Grandparents, for our parents....
there is a reason they were the greatest generation.

That will not be said of my generation or the one following us.
Without morals and values, and with the ever constant effort to change our
country from one founded on belief in God and His commandments
into one of political correctness moving closer to taking its place....
Political correctness has become more important than God?

Well America,
be careful what you wish for.
Is it by chance our country has been going down hill at a fast clip
for sometime now?
Something has changed and it wasn't God.
He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

For me it seems people are afraid to stick to what worked for fear of
being the odd man out...to be the uncool person if you choose God over
being politically correct.
I have never liked "political correctness".
I don't want to be correct in the eyes of Washington !
Why is it not more important to be correct in God's eyes?

My core beliefs, my faith in our country that was founded on Christian principles
will not waiver in order to fit in with Washington, Hollywood and the like.
Clearly I can see how happy those in Washington and Hollywood are?
Right?

I'm not a hypocrite, I'm not judging.
I'm not afraid to be the odd one standing in a world of political correctness.

When I'm in crisis it's God I will call out to,
not Washington D.C., not Hollywood.

Psalm 33: 11-15
says,

"But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever,
the purposes of his heart through all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people he chose for his inheritance.
From heaven the Lord looks down
and sees all mankind;
from his dwelling place he watches
all who live on earth—
he who forms the hearts of all,
who considers everything they do."

~

Dear World,
I chose to trust God.
It's what echos from my heart always....

  1. Me too, Debi. I choose God each and every moment of every day. I don't like to think of myself as hypocritical or judgmental either though.

I know that past generations had their "issues", and I often ask myself "is it only me that sees the way things are going these day?" No, surely not. But, yes we see SO much that is the way we were raised. You're right - everything seems to be going downhill at a rapid pace. it's frightening for our families that will be here after we're gone. "They" have appeared to shoved our blessed Lord to the wayside, and it's awful; disgusting to say the least.

I'm with you my friend in every word you write.

    xoxo

  5. I kind of enjoy being the "odd man out"--and at my age, it seems to be okay. If people disagree with how I live or what I ascribe too, they just shake their head and mutter, "Senile old woman!" HAH.
